Mobile tanning has its own place in the tanning industry and is a fast growing market, we caught up with Emma to see what makes her business unique and successful....

   

Could you tell us a bit about your business and what makes you so passionate about your work?

I pride myself on being very pedantic and I take great pride in my attention to detail and listen to what my clients want.

Why did you choose to become a brand partner with Tuscan Tan?

I used Tuscan Tan in my first salon in 1999, I’ve used other products but always come back to Tuscan Tan and now that’s all I specialise in because I can depend on it every time to look amazing!

As a spray tan professional, what is your best tanning tip?

If I could give only one special tip it would be to moisturise your tan!!! Your tan looks as good as you allow it to, the more you moisturise, the longer the tan lasts and the better it looks. 

What is your best pre and post care advice for a professional spray tan or self tan?

Its important to exfoliate your skin pre-tan to get rid of any dead skin cells allowing a fresh clean surface for your tan to be applied. However, DO NOT over do it by exfoliating over consecutive days or dry brushing your skin, as over-exfoliation will strip your skin of any natural oils, leaving your skin dry, scaly and patchy which could leave your tan looking uneven. The body areas to pay special attention to are your hands, feet, ankles and elbows. These areas are naturally dry and require exfoliating and moisturising.  I think the worst tans are most noticeable by bad application and coverage on feet and ankles.

You’re extremely successful in tanning. Can you tell us your best tip for successfully building a professional spray tanning clientele?

I pride myself on being very pedantic and I take great pride in my attention to detail and listen to what my client wants.
As a mobile tanner I am never late, I always stay in contact and I’m flexible and available to everyone 7 days a week.
I am very mindful of parents with kid’s asleep, corporate clients who work late, athletes and models training / booking schedules, and actors needing special requirements and confidentiality.
I treat all of my beautiful clients exactly the same no matter what size, shape, sexual orientation, religion or gender. I love making people feel special, healthy and amazing for their special event.
